We've been building Bio-Bridges to help protect the rainforest. Bio-Bridges are restored wildlife corridors within damaged landscapes that help endangered species reconnect, enabling them and local communities to live more sustainably.
We want you to feel good inside and out, knowing you’re helping improve the livelihoods of local people and help endangered animals like Reggie, the Red-shanked Douc.
We joined the RSPO as founding members in 2004. In 2020 we changed our membership status to our group company, Natura &Co, and now report along with our sister companies Avon, Aesop, and Natura.
We’re committed to sourcing palm oil sustainably and to the principles of the Round Table for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).51% of the palm we use is offset using RSPO Credits Certified volumes reported for 2020. The Body Shop source additional physically certified RSPO materials (MB and Segregated/ IP), however, these have not been included in the 2020 report as we are in the process of achieving group-wide RSPO Chain of Custody certification that will permit us to report these volumes in accordance with RSPO claims policy. We expect to report more physically certified volumes in subsequent Commitment to Life reports.
The Body Shop products are endorsed as cruelty-free by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The Body Shop® sources its ingredients only from suppliers who do not test their ingredients on animals. This is audited regularly to ensure absolute compliance with the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) Humane Cosmetics Standard.
Our products are also endorsed as cruelty-free by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Such are our high standards, recently the BUAV recognised The Body Shop® as setting “a gold standard” for the industry.
We were acquired by Natura in 2017 and sit under the umbrella of Natura & Co. Natura & Co represents the three pioneering companies within the Natura group, with a shared purpose and a common commitment to sustainable and ethical business practices.

Online security is really important to us and we're committed to ensuring we keep our customers safe when ordering online. In order to do this, we perform random security checks on our orders.
